Care-oriented careers such as nursing, teaching, and social work are vital to society’s functioning. Yet, these careers are perceived as low in status. This devaluation of care-careers contributes to critical issues such as labor shortages and persistent gender segregation. We are a team of social and cultural psychologist that are trying to understand and change this phenomenon.
